Metropolitan Male Chorus
Let Brotherly Love Continue. -Hebrews 13:1
The Metropolitan Male Chorus was founded under the pastorate of the late Reverend Dr. John B. Holmes in the former church building located at 140 Second Street. The members consist of 20 men from the Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church. Our membership is open to all male members of the Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church. We meet twice monthly. Minister John Hagwood, Sr. serves as our Director of Music and musician.
The Male Chorus has ministered throughout the Capital Region and New York State. Concerts featuring the Metropolitan Male Chorus have been presented at the Albany Public Library, House of Praise Church, Central Park Gospelfest in Schenectady, NY, the Villa Mary Nursing Home, Idlewild Terrace Housing and Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. We were honored to sing at the Empire Baptist Missionary Convention Laymen's Auxiliary Annual Workshop for the Opening Worship Service, where the Keynote Sermon was presented by our Pastor, the Reverend Damone Paul Johnson.
Our goal is to lift the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to encourage others through our music ministry. Our mission is to spread the good news of Christ. We have come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord. Trusting in His Holy Word, He never failed us, and with God as our guide, we will strive to continue pressing on toward the mark of the high calling.
